You're standing on the Stubenring in Vienna, in front of the MAK, the Museum of Applied Arts. Take a look at that façade. Red brick, rich decoration, a proper Neo-Renaissance palace. Heinrich von Ferstel designed it, and it opened in 1871. That made it the very first museum building on Vienna's famous Ring Road.
