You're standing at the Naschmarkt, the biggest city market in Vienna. Have a look around. The stalls and pavilions stretch for about one and a half kilometres along the Wienzeile, in the sixth district, Mariahilf. Here's something you might not notice: the Wien River flows right underneath you. The market sits on top of it. The first pavilions over the river went up in 1902.
