You're standing on Herrengasse, at number 14, right in the heart of Vienna's old town. Take a look at the grand building in front of you. This is the Palais Ferstel, named after its architect, Heinrich von Ferstel. It's built in Neo-Renaissance style, and it was never really a palace. It started life as a bank and stock exchange. On the ground floor sits one of the most famous coffeehouses in the city: Café Central.
