Archaeological site Romeinse villa Groot Haasdal-Billich in Valkenburg aan de Geul

You're standing in the hills of South Limburg, southeast of the village of Haasdal. In the fields around you, known locally as Op den Billich, a villa stood in Roman times. Maybe even two. It was a villa rustica, a Roman country estate with a farm. Dozens of these villas have been found on the fertile loess soil of South Limburg.
