You're standing at the International Gay Monument, in the green of the Koekamp, right above the Koningstunnel and close to the Malieveld. Look up. The steel sculpture sits on a granito pedestal, and together they're more than seven metres tall. It was made by Hague artist Theo ten Have, and it remembers lesbian women and gay men all over the world who have been, or still are, persecuted or oppressed for who they are.
