You're standing on the Rapenburg canal in Leiden, on the corner of the Groenhazengracht, at the Bibliotheca Thysiana. Take a look at this elegant building. It dates from 1655, in the Dutch Classical style, designed by Arent van 's-Gravesande. Notice the balanced proportions and the Ionic columns resting on a high base.
