Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art

You're standing on Plaça dels Àngels, right in the old neighbourhood of El Raval. In front of you is a big white building that almost looks out of place. That's MACBA, Barcelona's Museum of Contemporary Art. All around you are narrow lanes and centuries-old houses, and in the middle of them sits this sleek block, a hundred and twenty metres long. When it was finished, local media called it the pearl among the old streets.
