You're standing at Barcelona Cathedral, right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. Its full name is the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia. Look at that richly decorated façade with its pointed towers. It looks medieval, but it's actually fairly new. For centuries the church had a plain front. This neo-Gothic façade only came in the late nineteenth century, based on an old fifteenth-century design, and everything was finished in 1913. Check out the roofline too. It's full of gargoyles, animals and mythical creatures.
