You're standing on Plaça del Pi, right in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, in front of Santa Maria del Pi. The name means Saint Mary of the Pine. Start with that huge rose window on the front. It looks centuries old, but it's actually a faithful copy from 1940. The original was lost in a fire in 1936. Below it is the Gothic arch of the main door. Above the entrance you'll spot the Virgin and Child, topped by the coats of arms of the city and the parish.
