You're standing on La Rambla, at the entrance to the Mercat de la Boqueria. Its official name is the Mercat de Sant Josep, but hardly anyone calls it that. This is the largest fresh food market in Spain, and you can tell straight away from the crowds. Tourists and locals squeeze past each other here every day. Just a few steps further along is the Liceu, the city's opera house.
