You're standing at the Grand Mosque of Paris, in the Latin Quarter, close to the Jardin des Plantes. It's the largest mosque in France and the oldest in mainland France. Start with the minaret. That tower is thirty-three metres tall and was inspired by the Zaytuna Mosque in Tunis. The green-tiled roofs, the horseshoe arches and the courtyard take their cue from the famous Qarawiyyin Mosque in Fez, in Morocco.
