Kılıç Ali Pasha Mosque in Beyoğlu

You're standing at the Kılıç Ali Pasha Complex, in the Tophane neighbourhood of Beyoğlu. In the middle is the mosque, with a single minaret. It went up between 1578 and 1580. Around it, the great architect Mimar Sinan designed a whole complex, with a religious school, a bathhouse, a tomb and a fountain. Sinan was in his nineties at the time. Not bad going.
