You're standing on Haseki Kadın Sokak in the Fatih district, and squeezed between the modern buildings is a big chunk of ancient masonry. It's easy to walk past, but this is the base of the Column of Arcadius. In Turkish it's called the Avret Taşı. A huge Roman triumphal column of marble once rose here, in the forum of Emperor Arcadius.
