You're standing by the Kız Kulesi, the Maiden's Tower. It stands on a tiny islet in the Bosphorus, about two hundred metres off the shore of Üsküdar, on the Asian side of Istanbul. Look past the tower to the other side. That's Sarayburnu, the tip of old Constantinople, once the capital of Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans.
