You're standing at Kasteel Heemstede, on the Heemsteedseweg in Houten. Look at that neat, symmetrical house sitting in its wide moat. At each of the four corners is a little tower, half built into the house. It went up in 1645 in the Dutch Classicist style, replacing an older knight's castle that stood about five hundred metres further south.
