You're standing at the Design Museum on Kensington High Street, in west London. Start by looking at the roof. It's a hyperbolic paraboloid, a shape that curves up and down at the same time, a bit like a saddle. That roof is older than the museum. The building dates from the 1960s and housed the Commonwealth Institute until 2002. Then it sat empty for more than a decade. Today it's a listed building.
