You're standing at St John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta, the capital of Malta. Start with the façade. It's plain and stern, with two bell towers, and looks more like a fortress than a church. That fits its architect, Girolamo Cassar, a Maltese military engineer. Above the door you'll see a balcony. That's where the Grand Master used to address the people on important occasions.
