Castille Place in Valletta

You're standing on Castile Place, at the highest point of Valletta, in front of the Auberge de Castille. It's been called probably the finest building in Malta, and one look at the façade tells you why. It's wide and grand, split into eleven bays. The central ones have pilasters, the outer ones plain panelling. Ornate windows sit in recessed panels, and the rusticated corners make the whole thing look rock solid.
