You're standing on Piazza della Scala, right in the heart of Milan. Behind some of the grand façades on this square sits a museum that's easy to walk straight past: the Gallerie d'Italia. It isn't a single building but a string of connected palaces. It started out in Palazzo Brentani and Palazzo Anguissola Antona Traversi. Take a look at those fronts and picture rooms full of paintings and sculpture behind them.
