You're standing on Marienplatz in Munich. On the east side of the square is the Old Town Hall, the pale building with the pointed tower. It lives a little in the shadow of its big, busy neighbour, the New Town Hall. Yet this is the older of the two. It's first mentioned in records back in 1310.
