You're standing at the Palais de la Découverte, which translates as the Discovery Palace, on Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt. Take a good look at the building in front of you. This science museum doesn't have a home of its own. It lives in the west wing of the Grand Palais, the part also known as the Palais d'Antin. The whole palace went up for the World's Fair of 1900, and this wing was designed by architect Albert-Félix-Théophile Thomas.
