Villa Foscari, detta "La Malcontenta" in Mira

You're standing at Villa Foscari, on the Brenta canal at Malcontenta, just outside Venice. It's the only villa Andrea Palladio built on the Brenta, and one of the few you can actually visit. Start with the front. See those columns, the triangular pediment and the wide stairs? Palladio took his cue from a Roman temple, so the house looks more like a shrine than a country home.
