You're standing on the Rue des Sables in Brussels, in front of the Belgian Comic Strip Center. Before you start thinking about Tintin, take a look at the building itself. The façade is natural stone, neatly symmetrical and gently curved inwards. Slender pilasters rise up and bend into rounded arches above the big windows and doors. Down at street level, wrought iron guards protect the windows. This is Art Nouveau, and not by just anyone: Victor Horta designed it in 1905.
