You're standing in the park at Tervuren, in front of the Royal Museum for Central Africa. Since 2018 it has simply called itself the AfricaMuseum. Take a good look at this palace. The main building is 125 metres long and 75 metres wide. Its façades are made of Luxembourg sandstone, sitting on a base of Belgian bluestone. It was designed by the French architect Charles Girault, the man behind the Petit Palais in Paris. You can tell: this is a proper French showpiece palace, with a dome right in the middle.
