You're standing on the Rue Montagne de la Cour, on the Mont des Arts in Brussels, right next to the Place Royale. Take a good look at the striking building in front of you. It used to be a department store called Old England. Architect Paul Saintenoy built it in 1899 in Art Nouveau style, the graceful style Brussels is famous for. Next door stands a much more sober neoclassical building from the eighteenth century, designed by Barnabé Guimard. Together they house the Musical Instruments Museum, the MIM for short. And right across the street is the Magritte Museum.
