Château de Maisons-Laffitte

You're standing at the Château de Maisons, on the edge of Paris, between the Seine and the forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Have a look at those roofs. Each section of the building has its own roof, steep and tall, topped with big chimney stacks. It gives the whole front a lively, broken outline. The château sits on a rectangular platform, ringed by a dry moat, very much in the French manner.
