You're standing at the Fort near De Kwakel, one of the forts of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. That ring of defences around the capital is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fort is one of a row of four between Kudelstaart and Uithoorn. To the west lies the fort at Kudelstaart, and to the east the forts on the Drecht and at Uithoorn.
