Hunebed G1 Noordlaren in Groningen

You're standing at dolmen G1, on a small rise in a patch of woodland near the village of Noordlaren. A dolmen, or hunebed in Dutch, is a prehistoric grave built from huge boulders. This is the only one in the province of Groningen still in its original spot, and the most northerly one in the Netherlands that hasn't been moved. The border with Drenthe is less than two hundred metres away.
