Museum De Buitenplaats in Tynaarlo

You're standing at De Buitenplaats in Eelde, part of the Drents Museum since 2024. It's really a little village of buildings set in a big garden. Start with the old house, the Nijsinghhuis. It dates from 1654, when it was home to the local schout, a kind of mayor and judge rolled into one. Later it became a country retreat for the Nijsingh family, and later still Eelde's town hall.
