You're standing at the Prinsenhof on Martinikerkhof in Groningen. Start with the gate. It dates from 1642 and was restored in 1940, when the city celebrated nine hundred years. On the east side stands the Gardepoort, the guard gate, once home to the mounted guard. It links Martinikerkhof with Turfstraat.
