Piloersemaborg in Westerkwartier

You're standing at the Piloersemaborg in Den Ham, in the Westerkwartier area of Groningen. A borg is the Groningen word for a country house of a wealthy family, a kind of small castle. This one is special. It's the last farm borg in the Netherlands, where the manor house and the farm barn belong together. Between the house and the barn you'll see a low connecting building from the nineteenth century.
