You're standing on the Folkingestraat in Groningen, in front of the synagogue from 1906. Look up at those two towers. They start out square, turn eight-sided higher up and end in a rounded dome with an open lantern. Plenty of passers-by think of a mosque when they see them. In the gable above the entrance sits a colourful round window with a Star of David.
