Castle Huis Zypendaal in Arnhem

You're standing at Huis Zypendaal, a country house in Park Zypendaal on the north side of Arnhem. Take a look at the house first. It was built around 1762 to 1764 as a country retreat for the Brantsens, a family of Arnhem patricians. The design came from the city's master carpenter, Hendrik Viervant. An earlier house of the same name once stood on this very spot.
