Kasteel Middachten in Rheden

You're standing at Middachten Castle in De Steeg, not far from the river IJssel. Start with the front. In the middle of the façade, a section juts forward, with a showpiece front made largely of sandstone. At the top, under the curved cornice, you can see the coats of arms of the couple who gave the castle its present shape. And the bridge to the entrance is lined with elegant vases in the style of Louis the Fourteenth.
