You're standing at the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków. Take a look around at all that flat, open space. That's no accident. This used to be Kraków-Rakowice-Czyżyny Airport. Austria-Hungary built the airfield in 1912, which makes it one of the oldest in the world. It closed in 1963, and just a year later, in 1964, the museum opened its doors right here. CNN later named it one of the best aviation museums in the world.
