You're standing on the Main Market Square of Kraków, the Rynek Główny. At almost four hectares, it's one of the largest medieval town squares in Europe. It was laid out again in 1257, after the Mongols had destroyed the city. Each side has three streets running off it at right angles. Only Grodzka Street is older. That one leads to Wawel Castle.
