You're standing at St. Florian's Gate, the medieval city gate on the northern edge of Kraków's Old Town. Start by looking up at the tower. It's 33.5 metres tall, and the Baroque metal helmet on top adds another metre. That helmet went up in 1660 and was renovated in 1694.
