You're standing at the Czartoryski Museum in Kraków, one of the oldest museums in Poland. This building was once an arsenal in the old city wall. In 1874 the city offered it to the Czartoryski family, and in 1878 the museum opened. For the renovation the family turned to the architect Viollet-le-Duc, who passed the job on to his son-in-law.
