You're standing at the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora, one of the most important Mannerist buildings in Portugal. Start with the façade. It's grand but strikingly plain, with two towers and statues of saints tucked into niches. That design caught on and was copied across Portugal. At the bottom you'll see three arches, leading into the church's entrance hall.
