You're standing at the Maritime Museum Rotterdam, on the Leuvehaven, one of the oldest harbours in the city. Take a look at the building. It's a crisp triangle, and you'll spot steel everywhere. Architect Wim Quist built in nods to shipbuilding: steel stairs, railings, gangways and cranes. The museum moved here in 1986. The cube-shaped extension was added in 2004, designed by his successor Frank Wintermans.
