Castle Hernen in Wijchen

You're standing at Hernen Castle, in the village of Hernen near Wijchen, at the far western edge of the area around Nijmegen. This is a castle just like the ones you pictured as a kid, and there's a reason for that. It was never besieged, and nobody has lived here permanently since the seventeenth century. So little was changed, and it's still largely medieval.
