You're standing at the oldest fishermen's memorial in Scheveningen, at the start of the Scheveningse Bosjes woods, along the Scheveningseweg. It honours the more than three hundred Scheveningen fishermen who died at sea during the First World War, from sea mines and torpedoes. Queen Wilhelmina unveiled it on 26 September 1922, together with Prince Hendrik.
