The first stage of the Schelde-Rheinroute (LF13) is a cycle route of almost 55 km from Vlissingen to Hansweert, through the Zeeland polders. You ride via Middelburg, past the Meiveld, to Oudedorp and Nieuwdorp, then through the municipality of Borsele via 's-Heerenhoek, Nisse, 's-Gravenpolder and Schore to Hansweert. More than two thirds follows roads. We know of three toilets, three water taps and one bike pump on the way. The LF13 is named for linking the Scheldt with the Rhine: beyond Venlo you can carry on to Duisburg.
