You're standing on the Markt in Middelburg, in front of the town hall. It's considered one of the finest Gothic buildings in the Netherlands. In a 2009 poll by the newspaper Trouw, it came second. Construction started in 1452, led by several generations of the Keldermans family from Mechelen.
