Castle in Goes

You're standing at Slot Oostende, right in the centre of Goes, on Singelstraat. The old castle grounds lie between Sint Adriaanstraat, Wijngaardstraat, Oostendestraat and Singelstraat. You could almost walk past it, because the castle is tucked in between the houses. Look at the tall house with the stepped gable and the little pinnacles on top. That's a fourteenth-century tower house. Around 1950 it got a flat roof, and at the same time the front was restored to its medieval look, with a stepped gable just like on old drawings.
