You're standing on Brugstraat in Groningen, in front of two of the oldest houses in the city. The Canterhuis and the Gothic House both date from the fourteenth century. For decades they were home to the Northern Maritime Museum, all about shipbuilding and shipping in the north of the Netherlands. Look up between the buildings. The passage between Brugstraat and Reitemakersrijge had to stay public during the day, so a footbridge was built high up to link the two houses.
