You're standing at Danse Macabre, in the Efteling. Look up at that crumbling abbey. Collapsed roofs, cracked walls. It looks as if something terrible happened here long ago, and that's exactly the idea. Until 2022, this was the site of Spookslot, the park's old haunted castle. Danse Macabre took its place and opened on Halloween, the 31st of October 2024.
