Story · Monument Koninklijke Nederlandse Brigade Prinses Irene

You're standing in the Vrijheidspark, Freedom Park, in Tilburg, at the statue known as The Standard Bearer. Look up at the bronze figure. A marching soldier holds his brigade's banner high. He belongs to the Princess Irene Brigade, the Dutch unit that helped liberate Tilburg on 27 October 1944.
