You're standing at the Royal Basilica of Saint Francis the Great. Its main façade looks out over the Plaza de San Francisco, where Calle de Bailén, the Gran Vía de San Francisco and the Carrera de San Francisco meet. Start by looking up at that huge dome. It's thirty-three metres across and fifty-eight metres high, the biggest in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. Notice how round it is? It's closer to the Pantheon in Rome than to the typical domes of the eighteenth century.
