You're standing at Bamberg Cathedral, the church of Saint Peter and Saint George. Start by counting the towers. There are four, each about 81 metres tall, two at each end of the church. Look closely at the eastern pair. They used to be lower. Only after 1766 did they get those steep pointed gables, which brought them up to the height of the western towers.
